Gen Justice has changed dozens of laws across the country impacting more than 500,000 kids. These reforms focus on keeping children safe and shortening their time in care. New laws require mandatory and immediate reporting of children missing from foster care, increased penalties for child predators, and securing the right of children to be represented by legal counsel.
Darcy has received numerous awards for her service. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services presented her with its Adoption Excellence Award, and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute named her an Angel in Adoption. In 2022, the Arizona Capitol Times named Olsen a Leader of the Year for her profound impact improving the quality of life for children.
Before launching Gen Justice, Darcy served as CEO of the Goldwater Institute, where she spearheaded work that led to the passage of the nation’s right-to-try law and the largest education scholarship program for students in the country.
Darcy’s work is inspired by her experiences fostering 10 children and adopting four.
