Kate Xiao Zhou is a professor of political science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is an expert on comparative politics, Chinese politics, women and development, and the political economy of East Asia. She is the author of How the Farmers Changed China: Power of the People (Westview Press, 1996).
