By Metro
By Metro: We are approximately five blocks from Metro Center. Take the metro to Metro Center and use the 11th Street exit. Walk north so the lettered streets get higher (H, I, K, L, Massachusetts). Due to recent construction, you must make a right on K Street and walk 1 block; Turn left on 10th and walk 1 block. Cato is on your left at the corner of 10th St., N.W., and Massachusetts Avenue. Cato is also accessible from the Mount Vernon Square 7th St- Convention Center metro. From the metro exit, walk south down 7th street with the Convention Center building on your right. Make a right on L street and walk underneath the Convention Center. Cross 9th St. and continue on L street for one more block. Turn left on 10th street and walk a little less than a block. Cato will be directly in front of you, across Massachusetts Avenue at the corner of 10th St., N.W., and Massachusetts Ave.
By Car
From the North: Take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (295 South). Stay on the parkway 20-25 miles. Take the New York Avenue exit (50 West) into Washington. You will be entering Washington on the northeast side. Stay in the two right-hand lanes on New York Avenue and continue past the left exits for 395. After crossing 4th Street N.W., bear off to the right onto L Street. Continue straight on L Street to 10th Street. Turn left at 10th Street and go one block to Massachusetts Avenue. The Cato Institute is located at the corner of 10th St., N.W., and Massachusetts Avenue. (see map)
From the South: Take 95 North to 395 North. Follow 395 North to the 12th Street exit. Exit on 12th Street, N.W., and proceed to L Street. Go right on L Street for two blocks to 10th Street N.W. (L Street becomes Massachusetts Avenue at 10th Street). The Cato Institute is located on the corner of 10th St., N.W., and Massachusetts Avenue. (see map)
From the West: Take 210 South to where it splits. Go toward Virginia to 495 (Capital Beltway - South) to George Washington Parkway. Take the GW Parkway to 395 North. Follow directions above from the south (see map).
