Cato Institute Policy Forum and Luncheon 2015
Featuring
Welcome to an informative policy luncheon and intimate discussion with Peter Goettler, president and CEO of the Cato Institute; John Allison, retired president and CEO of the Cato Institute; and David Boaz, executive vice president of the Cato Institute and author of the newly released book The Libertarian Mind: A Manifesto for Freedom.
John Allison will introduce new Cato president and CEO Peter Goettler, who will discuss how the moral case for liberty infuses Cato’s work and animates our role in the policy debate. He will emphasize Cato’s substantial impact by highlighting current key issues in which the Institute is at the forefront.
David Boaz, a key voice in the libertarian movement, will address several policy issues as they relate to the future of freedom in America. From the rapid rise to prominence of Senator Rand Paul to the statelevel movements to legalize gay marriage and marijuana, the philosophy of fiscal conservatism, social tolerance, and restrained foreign policy seems to be gaining currency in American politics. In light of recent setbacks for individual liberty, Cato’s executive vice president will discuss how we can get back on the path to freedom, free markets, limited government, and peace at this auspicious “libertarian moment.”
