Paul Brigner

Paul Brigner is Head of Coinbase Institute, a global crypto-native think tank grounded in evidence-based research and thought leadership with a mission to increase economic freedom in the world. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Electric Coin Co., the creators of Zcash — a privacy-protecting, digital currency built on groundbreaking zero-knowledge-proof technology, and he teaches Fintech for MBAs at Georgetown University. He is renowned within the cryptocurrency policy community for spearheading the PGP* (Pretty Good Policy) for Crypto initiative, including monthly roundtable meetings, special briefings, and podcasts. Over the course of his career in technology policy, he has held senior roles in notable organizations such as Verizon, Internet Society, the Motion Picture Association of America, and the Chamber of Digital Commerce. Prior to his transition into technology policy, he had an initial career in software development, pioneering early-internet systems. He is a U.S. Army veteran with a JD and MBA from Georgetown University.
