Cathy Young

Former Cultural Studies Fellow and Adjunct Scholar

Cathy Young was a cultural studies fellow and adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute. She writes on a wide variety of cultural and political issues, including gender issues (equal opportunity in the workplace, sexual harassment policy, sexual assault and domestic violence law, child custody, etc.), freedom of speech and intellectual tolerance, diversity, education, and perspectives on American history, as well as Russia and U.S.-Russian relations. Young is a weekly columnist for Newsday, a writer at The Bulwark, and a contributing editor at Reason. She is the author of Growing Up in Moscow and Ceasefire: Why Women and Men Must Join Forces to Achieve True Equality.

Cathy Young was born in Moscow in 1963, and came to the United States in 1980. She is a graduate of Rutgers University.
