Andy Craig
Andy Craig is a fellow at the Institute for Humane Studies and an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute. His work is focused on election law and electoral reform, along with the political philosophy of liberalism, pluralism, and democracy. Craig’s analysis and recommendations have been cited by members of both parties on the floor of the House of Representatives and in the Senate Rules Committee and were incorporated in the Electoral Count Reform and Presidential Transition Improvement Act of 2022. His work has appeared in outlets including the Washington Post, Fox News, MSNBC, The Nation, and Politico. He is a regular columnist for The UnPopulist and has testified on election law to numerous state legislative committees. Craig has also written on topics including the First Amendment, the libertarian movement, and American history and has worked on communications and strategy for candidates at the local, state, and national level, including the 2016 presidential campaign of Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico. Previously, Craig was staff writer at the Cato Institute from 2018 to 2022.
