Tad DeHaven is a policy analyst on federal and state economic and fiscal policy issues for the Cato Institute. Prior to that, he was a research analyst with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. From 2008 to 2013, DeHaven was a budget policy analyst with Cato and co-editor of Cato’s Downsizing the Federal Government website. He’s a former deputy director of the Indiana Office of Management and Budget and worked as a policy advisor in the U.S. Senate.
His articles have been published in the Washington Post, Washington Times, New York Post, Wall Street Journal Online, National Review and Politico.com. He has appeared on the CBS Evening News, CNBC, CNN, C‑Span, Fox News Channel, Fox Business Channel, and NPR.
