A federal judge ruled Monday that the infamous far-right group, The Proud Boys, no longer controls the trademark of its name. They will not be able to sell any merchandise with its name or symbols without permission from a Black church in Washington. Members of the group vandalized the church after a pro-Trump rally in December 2020.
Doug Bandow, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, wrote about the incident when it occurred and is available to discuss the new developments. If you would like with speak to him, please reach out to pr@cato.org.
